Transfer and LEI number renewal

Transfer and LEI number renewal

Get a LEI code transfer and renewal here

Do you already have a LEI code but wish to transfer the management to us as registration agent and to the LOU we work with, and benefit from our low LEI prices and good customer service? You have come to the right place. The actual transfer of the code to our used LOU – RapidLEI – is free of charge, but the renewal is subject to payment. We renew it at the same time for the period you prefer.

If you are only interested in transferring the LEI number without renewal, please use our contact form.

Transfer and renew your LEI code at the lowest price

With the help of LEI Service, you can transfer and renew your LEI to the LOU we work with for only £49 (excluding any applicable VAT). If you transfer and renew for a longer period than 1 year, you can also save a considerable amount.
See our pricing page.

You never lose any prepaid period

Even if you have prepaid a GLEIF period (which is always 1 year) of validity for your LEI code with your current provider, you can transfer the LEI code to the LOU we work with now. We ensure that you do not lose any part of the prepaid period*.

We can submit a renewal request 60 days before the LEI code expires, so if your LEI code expires in 90 days, it will remain pending in our system until 60 days before expiry.

* Please note that if you have prepaid for several years with your current provider, you should wait until the last contract year before transferring, unless you have the option to exit the agreement. Otherwise you risk losing the prepaid years.

What is the difference between a LEI code renewal and a transfer and renewal?

If you already have a LEI code today, it will have been issued through a LOU entity, which is the one that practically issues the LEI code itself. In order for you to be able to use our low administration prices, your LEI code needs to be transferred to the LOU that LEI Service works with.

This process is 100% free for you, and no change is made to the LEI number itself – it is a purely administrative exercise that we handle. Unfortunately, we cannot renew your LEI before it has been transferred to the LOU we work with.

Please note that a transfer can take 2–7 business days, as your old provider must approve the transfer. Unfortunately, we have no influence over this and it is the same for all LEI companies.

Always remember to cancel your agreement with your old provider, in case they should invoice you for a renewal without your consent.

FAQ

It is very easy to switch LEI code provider. LEI Service offers this process via RapidLEI as LOU, where all you need to do is enter your Companies House registration number (CRN) and confirm your details. We then initiate the process, which can however take up to 7 business days to complete. A transfer always takes longer than registering a new LEI – this applies to all participants in the LEI system.
Please note that the transfer itself to another LOU is free of charge, but renewal for a new period is subject to payment.

LEI Service can renew your LEI number for only £49 for 1 year (excluding any VAT). Choose a longer renewal period of 3 or 5 years to save more and benefit from our automatic renewal service.
